What I call Mixed-Method Medicine combines a couple of ideas together. Mixed-Method as a nod to the creativity of of Mixed-Media as an art form and a way of creating, organic and unexpected. Medicine as a way to honor that medicine in an ancient and ancestral way is not "medical" as we know it in the narrow Western scope. It is more than doctor's offices and medical procedures. It is Medicine for the heart-mind-body-spirit. It is from an eternal line of knowing and funneled to us through different lineages, but there are some elements that are true throughout lineages and throughout time.

No. Psychotherapy and mental health care is a service provided for clients within the state of their residence with a licensed mental health clinician and addresses presenting life issues, but also works with clients around deeper issues of complex trauma, mental health issues, as well as emotional crisis.
As these Mixed-Method sessions are often done at a distance and across state lines there is no way to provide the same level of support or licensure capacity to support clients through the issues that require close proximity and access to local social services resources that mental health care clients might require from their provider.
If you have a mental health care need please connect with a locally licensed provider in your area.
The care specific to what Teresa provides with Mixed-Method Medicine can provide support to clients throughout the country and the world through the capacity of virtual communication. Teresa's integrative approach to wellness also allows for an engagement of embodied and energy healing practices and tools, as well as meditative and guided relaxation practices, and Indo-Latinx Indigenous practices to be integrated alongside deep listening and collaborative reflection on a client's current life issues, to build collaborative approaches to current circumstances in the client's life together.
Spirit Care Coaching is as diverse as the practioner providing the service. Similar services are sometimes called spiritual coaching, spiritual direction or spiritual companionship. This kind of coaching offers a collaborative deep space of listening to spirit, ancestors and reflecting on existing or building lineages of spiritual practice for each person to support a client's way through a specific spiritual question or transition on their spiritual pathway.
Yes! Teresa offers Spirit Care Coaching to community members across a variety of spiritual lineages and wisdom traditions and brings in a scope of practice deeply informed by BIPOC-centered mysticism, ancestral reclamation and a queering of spiritual identity (divergent paths from pre-existing norms). She deeply honors the ways in which ancestry and historical lineages, as well as reclamation of lineages inform both BIPOC and Non-BIPOC clients seeking to explore their own spiritual path today and into their spiritual future.
Teresa comes from her own multi-lineage/trans-lineage spiritual framework in which she has engaged western, eastern and indigenous spiritual traditions in a respectful, honoring and deeply connected way. That said, she creates space in her spirit care coaching for the fullness of each client's spiritual lineage and wisdom to come forth, and offers space for new and emerging spiritual paths to rise up in each client's journey.
Creative Arts Coaching is a coaching practice specifically centering and oriented towards supporting and lifting up the creative process of artists across disciplines. This kind of coaching offers space for creatives to navigate, in companionship, their own creative process, their creative life and overall life balance, and stressors that arise through and witihin the creative process.
Teresa serves clients across creative disciples including actors, playwrites, photographers, graphic designers, painters, sculptures, multimedia artists, filmmakers, authors across disciples, musicians and beyond. As far and wide as a client defines their own creative lineage or practice is as far as this form of coaching can reach.
She would, and this is why she also has such a heart for artists. She was a hobbiest sketch artist and photographer in her youth, and began writing her first book in elementary school (to very little outcome). She has (although little known fact) designed many of her own tattoos, is a bit of a current hobbiest at graphic design and website design (creating all her own logos and websites), and she is the author of three creative nonfiction books. She finds a beloved community amid other artists and loves being able to serve the community in this way.
Healing Practitioner Mentorship provides support, grounding and resources (through tools and practices) to professionals across the mind, body, spirit health and wellness fields. Teresa acknowledges, and knows from her own experience as a clinical social worker and trauma therapist for the last 15 years, how taxing and exhausting healing care professions can be. While you can love the work it is also possible to feel burnt out and needing support and restoration along the lifelong path of this work - to sustain for the long run. This mentorship offers space for healing care providers at any point in their career in their field that are seeking space of support and restoration.
This mentorship is available to and serves a variety of healing professions. Teresa seeks to support the nurturing, growth and grounding of professionals across fields of practice who do the hard work every day to support individuals and communities who are hurt and seeking healing. This includes (but is not limited to): mental healthcare professionals, wellness coaches, holistic healing professionals, embodied care and yoga professionals, naturopathic and acupuncture professionals, reiki professionals, medical professionals, and those in the frontlines crisis and emergency response professions.
It does not. While there are many ways in which this mentorship process provides support for healing care professionals in a variety of fields at various stages of their career it does not meet criteria for clinical licensure supervision in a specific field of practice. Due to the regulations which are state based and field of practice based it is necessary for you to seek licensure supervision from a professional in your field of practice who is already licensed in the state in which you practice.
Tarot, like a prayer or meditation practice, is what you bring to it. For some it is merely a practice for fun - something to do as entertainment alone. For others it is a space of reflecting on what is going on in their current life with more clarity. It can also be approached like a prayer practice - a meditation on the present moment and possible questions that are arising in you, where you can input the cards' story alongside your own intuition on a certain issue.
Tarot, and practices like it (reading runes, stones, crystals, tea leaves) span across the landscape and lineages of human history. In that way it carries a long lineage with no one specific origin story. The specific practice we have contemporarily named "tarot" likely originated in 1400's Italy, but versions of it are traced back to ancient Egypt and Kabbalistic lineages as well. Again, many parallel practices of meditating, praying and reflecting on objects, cards and wisdom tools have crossed continent and human history.
Throughout history there has been fear of what has been unknown. Everything from villifying natural medicine professionals in the middle ages and burning them as witches, to calling tarot and practitioners "evil" is a function of a kind of ignorance born of fear.
Tarot, like anything else, is what we make it - as practitioners and clients. It is always important to align with the ethics of a person providing any service but the service itself is not bad or good.
Teresa offers consulting services to organizations, businesses and institutions large and small. This can include a private small business, a larger business or academic institution and organizations such as foundations and nonprofits. Each service and area of focus is tailored to the need of each organization with which she is consulting.
If it is a brief question you can send an intial email via Teresa's contact form. That said, if it is something that would take longer than a 10-15 minute dialogue please do schedule for one of the session times most appropriate for your needs (a 30-min or 50-min call).
ETHICS OF TIME + EQUITY: This practice aligns with Teresa own boundaries and ethics. As a queer woman of color, Teresa has found in the past that well-intentioned working relationships can become imbalanced when the resources, time and power capacity of an organization pulls from the time and expertise of marginalized people. This happens in an effort of collaboration, but without an attentiveness to the costliness of time, it is an imbalance of power and inequity towards practitioners for whom financial resources are not equally as abundant as the organization or institution.
